The Corporal Works of Mercy, Cloth the Naked pt. 2

It is clear how Matthew’s Gospel, Chapter 25 agree with Isaiah 58. As you heard in Matthew 25, we have the last judgment scene where all the nations will be assembled before the Son of Man when he comes in his glory, he will separate them from one another as a Sheppard separates the sheep from the goats. Hopefully, we will be counted among the sheep. He will place the sheep on his right and reward them based on the following:

When I was hungry, you gave me food
When I was thirsty, you gave me drink
A stranger, you welcomed me
Naked, you clothed me and so on...

It is clear that Jesus identified with these people and when we minister to them, we minister to HIM! We see his face in their faces!

We also see the Lord in the Bread of his body and the Wine of his Blood in the Eucharist. Make sure that we make that connection between

The poor
Man/woman in the sheep

And the Bread and Wine of Holy Communion, This is what St. John Chrysostom told us. To see the same Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and in the poor, hungry, naked, and homeless person as well.
